Hotchkiss Flower Farm Annual Tulip Tour
When Tulips are in bloom on the farm, in May & June, we host a Tulip Tour where visitors are welcome to walk through the tulip beds and see all the different varieties we are growing. There are over 20,000 bulbs planted on our farm. In 2025 we added an additional 7000 bulbs. Many of those are new varieties.
Dates and Times will be announced on our website as well as our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Flowers
Picking Flowers
We harvest fresh flowers for visitors to purchase. We do not offer you-pick at this time. We are happy to harvest specific varieties for you upon request.

$25/ bunch or two for $40

Daffodils
besides tulips
We have a large selection of Narcissi aka daffodils. Bunches of daffodils will be available to purchase in the farmstand. Most of our daffodils are doubles or new to the Canadian market. They are very fragrant, filling the farm with their aroma.

Harvest
interesting tulips
We use living microorganisms instead of chemicals and flower food when harvesting flowers. This allows the tulips to stay alive and thrive longer after harvest. Sometimes our cut tulips will grow 6 inches taller after you get them home. We also notice tulips become fragrance enhanced.

Fact
pulling bulbs
When we harvest tulips, we are pulling the bulb on the flower. We harvest up to 70% of the tulips with bulbs on out of each bed. We plant our annual and perennials overtop of the tulips. Tulips Bulbs that have been harvested will not bloom again the following year, therefore we do not re-plant them and they are grown as annuals.

Fragrance
Tulip Scent
Most of our tulips have fragrance. Some specialty varieties have very unique scents. When tulips are in full bloom, you will be surrounded by their sweet aroma. Even when you take the bouquets home, you will get to enjoy their fresh floral honey scent. We do have some varieties that are also fragrance free.

Bulbs
buying bulbs
Tulips are planted in the fall, so no bulbs will be available to purchase during the tour. However, we can take your fall bulb order for any of our varieties that you fall in love with. Our bulbs come in from our wholesale grower in September. We do not sell the bulbs that are growing on our farm, we plant & sell new stock every year.
