Perennial Phlox is very cold hardy. On our farm, it often is still blooming after the first couple frosts of the season. Phlox produces multiple branches off of one stem and will often rebloom when spent flowers are cut back. This perennial has great vase life and offers a lot in the landscape with its large clusters of vibrant colour. Very showy. Phlox also has a lovely fragrance. 
 
Plant 1" below the soil surface in humus rich soil. We find first year planted phlox does best when amended with worm castings at time of planting to help it establish root and encourage blooming.
