Sapa Plum Cherry "Chum" is a dwarf shrub reaching 8' tall. Sapa Plum Cherry is a hybrid, crossed between a Western Sandcherry and a Japanese Plum. Extremely cold hardy, producing fragrant white blossoms in the spring followed by small little purple-red skin plum fruit and deep purple flesh much like a cherry. The flavour is sweet with a tart tang. Great for fresh eating, preserves, baking and wine making. Serves as an ornamental shrub with high yielding edible fruit. Fruit is ready to harvest mid to late August.
