This product is a staple on the Hotchkiss Flower Farm. When we started growing flowers and veggies to sell, we quickly learned that soil amendment costs add up fast. Add "organic" to the top of the cost list and things become overwhelmingly expensive. This product has allowed us to cut out costs of buying fertilizers , trace minerals for flavour enhancements, cut the costs of buying individual products like rock dust, bone meal, feather meal and blood meal. Even the individual cost of worm castings has been eliminated. This product already has everything in it, in a very concentrated level. We simply add this stuff directly to our beds at time of planting. We gauge how much we use based on the plants requirements. Heavy feeders simply get an extra scoop or two. Typically in container gardening, I use 2 gallon of this product to 10 gallons of existing soil and mix it in. In beds that are in ground, I typically sprinkle one 40L bag over a row that is 4 feet wide by 15 feet long. For planting peppers and tomatoes, I add 2 to 4 Handfuls into the bottom of the planting hole and mix it in.

Note from using this product on the farm : we have found that planting seedlings into beds amended with this product greatly help a plants cold and heat tolerance by about 5°c. It also helps raise the Brix levels of the plant creating pest and disease resistance. We also found flowers have better fragrances and more vibrant colours when grown in beds with this soil amendment. Vegetables become flavour enhanced and have a longer “shelf life” for storing.
