Canadian Shield Roses are as hardy as they come. We've been growing them here on our farm (growing zone 2) for 3 years. This rose continues to pump out blooms through heat, cold snaps, drought and wet conditions. In the landscape, it is self cleaning, meaning you do not need to cut off the spent blooms, it cleans itself and pumps out more buds. As a cut flower, it holds it's own in design work. The red stays true, doesn't fade. It is resistant to black spot and powdery mildew. I recommend amending the soil with worm castings (included with order) at time of planting.
