This is a fantastic storage onion that grows well in our climate. It is a sweeter yellow onion but despite the sweetness, it actually stores very well. We have stored them for over a year and they stayed solid. These are a later season onion that can get very large. We find they grow to be a perfect size in our climate for cooking throughout the winter. Not too big, not too small, just right.
Here on our farm, we often fall plant these onion sets. Our farm is in zone 2 and they do fantastic.
