The Cristina potato is actually an improved version on the Red Pontiac potato. This is an all around great potato for yields, storage life, and versatility. This is a very firm, sweet white fleshed, red skinned potato that is a heavy producer. Compared to Norland Red, we find Cristina consistently produces higher yields and have more tolerance to scab. This seed potato always sells out fast!
Cristina has held up well in our northern climate for late planting. We have planted Cristina as late as Mid July and have had abundant harvests in the fall for winter storing.
We highly recommend amending the soil at time of planting with worm casting for all potatoes to help prevent scab. Find Worm Castings here
