Astilbe, Erika (2/3 eye)
One 2-3 eye bare root.
Erika Astilbe gets HUGE. The blooms are feathry plumes of soft pink. The fern like foliage is a lush green. Beautiful as filler plumes in bouquets, it also works incredibly for bouquet filler right up until freeze up.
Astilbe is a workhorse on the Flower Farm. Not only does it produce beautiful plumes of colorful filler, the foliage is used from early spring until freeze up for greenery in bouquets. Astilbe thrives in shade and moist soil and is a very beautiful landscape perennial for our Northern Climate.

Growing Note: We find astilbe handles day length better when the soil is amended with worm castings at time of planting. In 2025/2026 trials we had astilbe tolerate full sun when amended with worm castings. Astilbe generally prefers full shade here in the north, however they have proven to tolerate pretty much any day length with healthy soil and lots of hydration.
